The Chevy Malibu is available in two engine options, five trim levels, and a variety of tech features.

Performance

Powering the Chevy Malibu is one of two engine options: either a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 or a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4. The base 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 makes 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque while the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine makes 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The base 1.5-liter engine pairs with a continuously variable transmission while the 2.0-liter engine works with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The new Chevy Malibu is only available in a front-wheel drive configuration.

Standard Equipment

The base Chevy Malibu L features a careful mix of tech, comfort, and performance to create a uniquely modern driving experience. The base L trim comes outfitted with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Bluetooth connectivity, and a basic audio system. Standard comfort features include a cloth-trimmed seats, climate control, and seating for five.
